Three-month supplies allow 100 days of medication for Medicare members

This applies to maintenance drugs at all formulary tiers except Tier 5 specialty drugs.

Effective Jan. 1, 2024, for Medicare members enrolled in Sharp Direct Advantage® plans, three‑month supplies will be extended to allow up to 100 days of maintenance medication through their outpatient pharmacy benefit. This change applies to retail and mail-order supplies at all formulary tiers except Tier 5 specialty drugs, which is limited to 30 days.

What this means for you

When you are writing a three-month prescription, you can write it for up to 100 days instead of up to 90 days.

What this means for Medicare patients enrolled in Sharp Direct Advantage® plans

Members will pay the same copay for a 100-day supply as a 90-day supply. They can still fill prescriptions for 90 days if they choose. If you have questions, please contact our dedicated prescription helpline at 1-855-222-3183.
