Frequently asked questions

Why does Sharp Health Plan offer paperless options?

We offer paperless options to make things easier for our members and contribute to a greener planet. Paperless communications help members access their documents faster online through their secure online account. It also helps the environment by using less paper.

What types of documents are available for paperless options?

We offer paperless premium bills for members who make monthly payments to Sharp Health Plan.

We also offer paperless explanation of benefits (EOBs).

For our Medicare members only: We do not currently offer paperless Part C EOBs for medical and hospital care. However, you can opt in to paperless Part D EOBs for prescription drug coverage by creating or logging in to your CVS Caremark® account.

Why aren’t there paperless options for all Sharp Health Plan documents?

There are laws and regulations that require health plans to print and mail certain health plan documents. Those will always be sent via mail. That said, we will be looking at expanding our paperless options to include other documents in the future.

How do my dependents opt into paperless explanation of benefits?

Dependents who are 12 and older should create or log in to their own Sharp Health Plan online account to opt into paperless explanation of benefits (EOBs).

For dependents under 12 years old, the subscriber — or the main person on the account — should contact Customer Care.

If I go paperless, can I change my mind?

Yes. You can turn off paperless at any time by logging in to your Sharp Health Plan online account. After you log in, go to the Account menu and choose Paperless preferences. From here you can turn off paperless.
