We’re pleased to introduce you to some of the members of our Sales team. The Sales team works together to provide health insurance you can count on and the best service to our members and brokers. Their commitment to The Sharp Experience makes a difference across the Health Plan and in the lives of everyone they serve.

Cheryl Cote, Sr. Account Executive

Cheryl Cote, Sr. Account Executive

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am responsible for managing relationships with brokers and local businesses to promote and sell our Health Plan. As a trusted advisor, I help clients understand their options and make informed decisions. Once a decision is made, I oversee the onboarding process. I ensure a smooth transition for employees into Sharp Health Plan by providing clear communication, support, and resources to facilitate enrollment. I have been with the Health Plan since May of 2011.

What’s the best part about being on the team?

Sharp is an award-winning health system, and I benefit from the credibility and trust Sharp has built. This allows me to do what I enjoy and feel I do best: develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and our local businesses.

What’s your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

I love jumping on my bicycle and taking a coastal ride on the 101, and I don’t care if I head north or south.


Glen Whitman, Sales Associate

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am a Sales Associate. I work directly with current and prospective members, helping them with enrollment and other plan and policy requests. I also provide support for our brokers. Additionally, I serve as a community liaison, fostering and maintaining relationships within our medical groups and community outreach partners. I have been with Sharp Health Plan for almost two years.

What’s the best part about being on the team?

My passion is truly based on wanting to help others that are in need whether that is working directly with a member or someone who is assisting them such as a broker or agent. I believe that my fellow team members share the same desire to serve others, and I like working with them to help provide the direction we all need in this ever-changing industry.

What’s your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

I live in San Diego with my wife and sometimes crazy pug, Penelope. The other joy of my life is my daughter Mia, who is starting nursing school this spring. When not enjoying the incredible meals prepared by my wife (a favorite pastime), you might find me looking for a new hiking trail to explore, riding a bike, walking on the beach, or hitting the golf course.


Georgina Herrera, Account Executive

What is your role at the Health Plan?

My role consists of being an enrollment specialist, helping individuals find the health plan that fits their needs, and most importantly, serving as a resource to help them understand how health insurance plans work. In addition, I also support our broker partners with their inquiries from onboarding to clientele assistance. I recently reached the 5-year milestone at the Health Plan.

What’s the best part about being on the team?

The best part of being on the Sales team is educating individuals about health insurance, and being a bilingual team member supporting a diverse a community. Above all, I work alongside an amazing and supportive team!

What’s your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

My favorite thing to do is staying active, whether that’s playing or trying new sports with friends and family. I enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures when I get the opportunity.

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am a sales associate supporting all lines of business and support group sales in an operational capacity. I have been with Sharp Health Plan for almost three years.

What’s the best part about being on the team?

The best part about being on the Sales team is the people that I work alongside. There is a unique team dynamic of very caring, intelligent, and helpful individuals who come together to help one another and the public we serve. I am so honored and extremely grateful to be a part of this team.

What’s your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

My favorite thing to do is go for long walks and explore different parts of town on foot. I like to explore and meet people wherever I go.

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am a senior account executive for new business sales and a leader in new business development and growth specializing in large group commercial insurance. I have consultative expertise focused on long-term partnerships and solutions, aimed at controlling cost while increasing membership and revenue at the Health Plan. I’ve been with the Health Plan for 20 years.

What’s the best part about being on the team?

The best parts are working with a team that values culture and integrity, making a difference in people’s lives, and having fun!

What’s your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

My favorite thing to do is anything active (running, hiking, yoga, weights, bike riding). My favorite thing to do is head to the beach around 4 pm, stick a chair in the sand with my husband, friends, and family, and watch the waves and sunset!


Rosie Burdick, Sales Associate

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I started as an intern and transitioned into the role of Sales Associate after four months. I provide high-quality customer service to prospective and current members and support the sales cycle by servicing accounts, educating leads, and processing applications. I also manage a high call volume and help new and existing members make changes to their health insurance plans. I have been with Sharp Health Plan for two years.

What’s the best part about being on the team?

The best part of being on the Sales team is working alongside a wonderful team of hardworking, caring, and supportive people. I continually learn and grow so much being a member on the sales team.


Trisha Maatubang, Account Executive

Trisha Maatubang, Account Executive

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I have the opportunity to educate consumers on health plan options to help them find the best plan for their needs. I also get to assist brokers as they do the same. I’ve been with the Health Plan for five years.

What’s the best part about being on the team?

Our team has amazing camaraderie. We are so tight-knit and that is why we are so strong.

What’s your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

I love to try new restaurants and taste my way through different cultures!
