How to join

To join, you need to use a special Active&Fit Direct link from your Sharp Health Plan online account.

Option 1: Use the Sharp Health Plan app. *recommended

From the app home screen, scroll down to the bottom and tap Prevention & wellness. Select Active&Fit Direct in the Discounts section. A new window will open the special Active&Fit Direct link. From there, create an Active&Fit Direct account to join a gym or log in to manage your Active&Fit Direct membership.

Option 2: Log in from a desktop or mobile browser.

With this option, you’ll have to create or log in to your ChooseHealthy account first before you can create an Active&Fit Direct account and join a gym.

From the home screen, scroll down to the bottom and select Prevention & wellness. Select Wellness deals in the Discounts section. A new window will open the ChooseHealthy program website. Create a ChooseHealthy account or log in, then select Active&Fit Direct. This will direct you to the special Active&Fit Direct link. From there, create an Active&Fit Direct account to join a gym or log in to manage your Active&Fit Direct membership.

Common questions

How much does it cost?

It costs $28 a month to enroll in a gym membership through the Active&Fit Direct program. You can also get a premium membership with added discounts on most exercise studios. The cost varies depending on the fitness center you choose.

When you first sign up, you’ll pay an enrollment fee and the monthly fees for the first two months, plus any taxes. If you choose a premium gym, you will pay an extra fee for each one. There are also extra fees if you want to sign up your spouse or partner.


I’m having trouble enrolling. What do I do?

First, make sure that you use the special Active&Fit Direct link in the Sharp Health Plan app or your online account. This link cannot be copied and pasted, nor can it be typed into a web browser. The Active&Fit Direct program is available only through the Sharp Health Plan app or your online account. It's not available to the public.


When can I start using the gym or studio I joined?

Once enrolled, print your Active&Fit Direct fitness card or save it to your phone and take it with you to the gym or studio. The gym or studio will verify your enrollment and ask you to complete their membership agreement. You'll receive a membership card or key tag. Now you're all set to start working out. Just use the fitness center's membership card or key tag every time you check in for a workout.


How do I switch from one gym to another?

You can switch gyms by doing the following:

  1. Log onto your online Active&Fit Direct account and go to ‘Manage Memberships.’
  2. From there, you can click on the ‘Switch’ link next to the gym you want to leave and click ‘Find a Fitness Center Near You’ to select the gym you want to attend.
  3. Then complete the remaining pages to confirm your choice.


How do I cancel my membership?

After your two-month commitment, you may cancel with 30 days’ notice. To cancel, log in to your Active&Fit Direct account and go to ‘Manage Memberships.’ All payments are for the following month, so you should cancel 30 days in advance. If you cancel your membership, your enrollment will end on the last day of the month for which you have paid. There are no refunds for future paid months. For example: If your billing date is June 15, and you cancel on June 20, your membership will end on July 31.
