Sharp Health Plan is implementing Epic Systems this fall

Here’s what you need to know.

We’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with Epic Systems — the nation’s leading health care technology company — and are implementing their software as our new core administrative system this fall. This new partnership will help us continue to ensure the highest quality, affordability, and ultimately an unparalleled provider, patient and customer experience.

What this means for you

We will be launching a new and improved provider portal, called your Sharp Health Plan account. It will replace the existing Sharp Connect provider portal you use today.

Your new Sharp Health Plan account will include self-service features and functionality that will allow you to:

  • Submit and check authorizations – NEW FUNCTIONALITY
  • Check claims status – NEW FUNCTIONALITY
  • Check eligibility – IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY
  • View important forms and documents
  • And more

Identifying Site Administrators

To help us ensure a smooth transition, we need your help identifying a Site Administrator(s) for your practice.

Site Administrators are typically office managers or the person who oversees the administrative functions at your practice. Site Administrators will be responsible for managing access to the new system, including:

  • Submitting new user requests
  • Verifying users
  • Deactivating users

Once identified, Site Administrators will receive special training on how to use the new system. They’ll also be responsible for identifying other team members at their practice who may need site user access like providers, clinical and non-clinical staff, and sharing that information with our Provider Account Management team.

We’ll be reaching out later this week for your help to identify a Site Administrator(s) for your practice. When you get our email, please reply right away. If you will not be the Site Administrator, please forward our email to the correct point of contact.

Next Steps

Once Site Administrators are identified, we will reach out to them about training. Our training is tentatively scheduled for this summer and will include multiple dates and times to choose from, as well as recorded trainings for Site Administrators to complete at their convenience. More training information will be shared in June.
